1. Feeling nauseous at work? Handle it discreetly
Find a quiet loo and have a water bottle handy. Turn on the tap noise if needed. Feeling tired or a bit off? Take frequent breaks, step outside, fetch files, and blame it on indigestion or a minor bug.
2. When someone offers wine or a drink
Fill your glass with sparkling water and lemon, or ask for a “gin & tonic” without the gin. No one will notice if you're chatting away. And remember: it’s perfectly fine to refuse. “I’ll drive tonight,” “I’ve taken medication,” or “My tummy’s a bit off” work every time.
